The Artwork has been made by me for the celebration of an anniversary year of members of the Thursday boys tennis players, reaching an age of 65, 70, 75, 80, 85 or 90 years in the year 2026. I have made 7 pieces which are handed over to these tennis players.

The Artwork
A Celebration of Light, Symbolism and Timeless Design
This unique artwork combines sculpture, light and symbolism in a single handcrafted object. At its heart is a candle composition consisting of three burning candles, forming both the visual and spiritual centerpiece of the work.
Inspired by two influential artistic movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the artwork harmoniously blends the flowing, organic elegance of Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) with the refined geometry and modern sophistication of Art Deco. The graceful botanical lines and natural forms characteristic of Art Nouveau are complemented by the balanced symmetry, bold shapes and luxurious appearance that define Art Deco.
Integrated into the design are two Mandalas—geometric circular patterns originating from Sanskrit traditions that symbolise the universe. For centuries, Mandalas have been used in Hinduism and Buddhism as aids for meditation, contemplation and spiritual guidance. Today they are also widely appreciated for representing harmony, balance and inner peace.
An Artwork with Meaning
This piece is designed not only as a decorative object but also as a symbolic expression of light, unity and spiritual awareness. The three illuminated candles ensure that the artwork radiates light in every direction, leaving no dark side. Light becomes both a physical presence and a metaphor for openness, positivity and connection.
To enhance both functionality and sustainability, the colored illumination is activated only when motion is detected nearby. When no movement is present, the lighting automatically switches off after a period of time, preventing unnecessary energy consumption.
The Symbolism of Three
The number three has held profound significance throughout history, philosophy and many of the world’s spiritual traditions. In numerology and Kabbalah it represents creativity, growth, expression and the harmony of body, mind and soul. It is often associated with inspiration, communication, beauty and the ability to transform ideas into reality.
Across cultures and religions, three symbolizes completeness and balance. In Christianity it is expressed through the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In Hinduism it appears in the Trimurti—Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Shiva the Transformer—and in Buddhism it is reflected in the Three Jewels: the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha.
The number also represents life’s natural cycles: beginning, middle and end; birth, life and death; body, mind and spirit. Artists, storytellers and composers have long recognized that groups of three create harmony, rhythm and memorable compositions. For these reasons, three is widely regarded as a symbol of completeness, creativity, optimism and good fortune.
The Artist
Rob Vermeer has been a member for many years of CKI (Creativ Kreis International), a European artists’ collective bringing together artists from countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Poland and Russia.
As a mark of authenticity, this artwork bears the official CKI emblem on its reverse.

Home build Jukebox
This jukebox offers 14 programmable songs, each activated by a dedicated button. The red button at the bottom stops the music. Volume control is located at the top. It is housed in a vintage bedside cabinet and features dynamic colored lights. The system includes a built-in subwoofer and left and right speakers positioned at the top. All the songs are MP3 on 2 sd Cards. The sound is great.
Talking robot
This robot is designed and build by me (2023) from parts bought, and acquired from thrift shops and is used as a presentation tool at the Tennisclub TCV in Valkenswaard, located in the Netherlands.

Hello everyone. Good morning. Let me introduce myself. I am Doda. Doda (Donderdag boys Dame) is an abbreviation of Thursday Boys Lady. And I will be presenting part of this jubilee celebration.
Those who feel the need may kiss me on the cheek, but it is not mandatory. I want to save my mouth for speaking.

This year there are five jubilarians. Hopefully they are all present. The jubilarians are Kees de Leeuw, he turned eighty this year. Wouter van den Vlasakker is also eighty years old. Hans den Older. He is eighty-five years old. And Herman Kuijpers. He is also eighty-five. And Bert van Sebille, he turned seventy this year.
I would now also like to thank a number of boys for the contributions they have made to this jubilee celebration and they are Frank van Ham for the painting and the packaging of the gadgets and making the videos. Geert de Roy for directing today and the speech information. Frank Overstegen for the wood and the photos, Martin Erich for the music and the five jubilarians for the snacks and the drinks.
